Position Title: Insurance Advisor

Reports to: Christina Nuar, President

A. SUMMARY

Rock Creek Insurance is a fast growing, customer centric, independent property & casualty insurance brokerage. An Insurance Advisor will play an intricate role in the production growth and development of the agency’s client base, as well as maintaining and growing brand awareness of Rock Creek Insurance throughout the greater Chattanooga and North Georgia area. Rock Creek Insurance uses a consultative approach to help clients understand their risks, manage their risks, and protect their assets. Employee satisfaction and customer service are the top priorities.

B. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Obtain your Property & Casualty and Life & Health Insurance licenses within 60 days of employment.
  2. Develop and execute a marketing plan to grow your book of business.
  3. Adhere to all agency procedures for writing new business and renewing existing accounts.
  4. Meet with prospective clients to pre-qualify and obtain information.
  5. Determine which insurance carriers can best fulfill the needs of the prospect and submit applications for quoting with each of those carriers.
  6. Work closely with underwriters and sales managers to determine the appetite, underwriting guidelines, and business procedures of each carrier.
  7. Develop information and recommendations for prospective accounts, present sales proposals, and adhere to agency policies and procedures for writing new accounts.
  8. Obtain a signed proposal from all new clients, requiring them to initial to decline optional and recommended coverages. Collect necessary deposits and obtain signed applications for every new policy prior to binding.
  9. Negotiate annual new and renewal production goals with President.
  10. Keep all prospect and client records up to date in the agency’s management system; including email correspondence, signed paperwork and copies of payment receipts.
  11. Establish procedures for maintaining a relationship with current clients and asking clients for referrals.
  12. Respond to prospect/client emails and phone calls as soon as possible but always within 24 hours. This includes forwarding any servicing requests to Rock Creeks Insurance’s internal servicing personnel within 24 hours.
  13. Respond to requests from insurance carrier representatives within 24 hours, always providing them clear, accurate and honest information about a risk.
  14. Maintain a concern for timeliness and attention to detail when interacting with customers, as well as when working with agency and company personnel to minimize potential for E&O claims.
  15. Assist in resolving any problems in accounting, audits or claims for accounts produced when necessary.
  16. Evaluate current client accounts 60 days prior to renewal to determine if the account needs to be re-marketed to other carriers.
  17. Contact clients 60 days prior to renewal to evaluate any changes in their exposures.
  18. Initiate continuing education to remain up to date on industry and product changes.
  19. Performs other functions as assigned by management.

C. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Aggressive and assertive self-starter with the ability to influence others with demonstrated effective verbal and written presentation skills. Willing to travel as required.

Expected to meet monthly new business premium and retention goals.

D. WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT

Fast-paced multitasking office environment. Employees are provided a dedicated workstation with basic setup features such as a computer, keyboard and mouse, dual monitors, and an adjustable chair. Workstation accommodations and adjustments are provided upon request and evaluation.

Must provide your own vehicle and maintain an acceptable driving record for transportation to community events and to meet prospects/clients.

E. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be physically able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week in the office. The employee is regularly required to see, hear, and project voice well without amplification. There is frequent need for the employee to stand, sit, walk, use repetitive small motor activity, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to lift and carry up to 30 pounds; to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and to ascend and descend stairs. This position requires a high-energy level and ability to handle stress-related situations on a daily basis. The employee may be required to drive and travel unaccompanied in diverse weather conditions.

F. PREREQUISITES

Must have a proven track record in sales and a desire to become a student of the property & casualty insurance industry.

Ability to use a computer, calculator, agency automation system, and demonstrate proficiency in various software programs, including but not limited to all Microsoft Office software suite programs.

Candidate must satisfactorily complete pre-hire employment assessments and maintain a satisfactory driving record. Candidate may be asked to submit to a drug and/or alcohol screening. A civil and criminal history background check will be performed at the company’s expense. Physical attendance is required at regular and/or mandatory company meetings. Employees are encouraged to pursue relevant professional designations; however, this is not required.

Office Manager Job Description

A. SUMMARY

Rock Creek Insurance is a fast growing, customer-centric, independent property & casualty insurance brokerage.  The Office Manger plays a critical role in maintaining the agency’s high standard of customer service, while enhancing the agency’s efficiency and marketing efforts.  This position has three distinct responsibilities.  First, serving as the agency’s customer service representative (CSR).  Secondly, enhancing the marketing efforts of the agency.  Thirdly, managing all special products geared at creating better workflow and greater office efficiency. 

B. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Obtain property and casualty insurance license within ninety (90) days of the start of employment.
  2. Answer the office phone and greet the caller with our warm agency welcome. 
  3. Handle any client service requests that come into the agency via phone, email, or request from an agency producer within 24 hours.
  4. Qualify agency prospects who call into the office and turn them over to a sales agent.
  5. Review renewal report sixty (60) days out and manage renewal changes as directed. 
  6. Use QQ Catalyst, our Agency Management System, to document all interactions with clients.
  7. Respond to all carrier inquires. 
  8. Ensure all employees comply with agency processes and procedures
  9. Develop workflows to ensure high-quality service and compliance with agency standards.  Continuously refine standards, workflows and procedures.
  10. Ensure office efficiency through continued efforts to better utilize agency systems for automation.
  11. Enhance agency branding and marketing efforts, included but not limited to, social media, email campaigns and community networking. 
  12. Assist sales agents with quoting, applications and carrier research, as requested.
  13. Manage agency special projects, as they arise.
  14. Inventory and order office supplies, as needed. 

C. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Friendly and articulate on the phone.  Exceptional organization skills, with the ability to create organizational processes.  Marketing, branding, and social media expertise.  Ability to troubleshoot, serve as a project lead and provide direction to others.
